Our performance work (currently in progress during 2023-24) is a 60-minute relational, multi-sensorial, immersive experience. It is a worlding of sorts, a durational installation that a small audience is guided through. Four sections have emerged in our development: CARE, LOSS, TIME, and FAILURE. We are experimenting with several components: sensual, autonomous, and care-based environments; the performance of multiple objects; temporary sculpture; video collage; and live performative and digital drawing using Procreate drawing software. Choreographically, we began using a movement language inspired by Authentic Movement and Tuning Scores*, and parts of the work are informed by stories gathered from our community events (*Starks Whitehouse/Nelson). We are employing wearable vibrotactile assistive devices, in collaboration with VibraFusionLab, for the audience participants and are excited to see how this can expand the ways our work is experienced.
